Deutsche-Welle TV:
The International Climate Initiative sponsors TV programmes and an online platform for success stories.

How can developing and newly industrialising countries respond to the challenge of climate change?
What action is already being taken on climate change in developing and newly industrialising countries? How can local people benefit economically, ecologically and socially as a result? Deutsche Welle TV, the German international broadcaster, is now spotlighting these questions with support from the International Climate Initiative (ICI) of the Federal Environment Ministry. Some 60 television reports and documentaries provide information on successful climate protection projects in developing and newly industrialising countries.
The programmes look at tailored solutions which demonstrate that climate protection is feasible, affordable and profitable, thus inspiring others to follow suit. The first reports showcase sustainable palm oil production in Thailand, solar energy in Senegal and micro hydropower in Honduras. They are produced in several languages (including English, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese) and broadcast worldwide on Deutsche Welle or channels operated by local partners. An online platform has also been set up, providing additional information and a video download function. A monthly newsletter keeps subscribers abreast with new items and features on the platform.
